Meet the Researchers Behind the Ancestral Nutrition Movement
Weston A. Price (1870-1948)
was an American dentist and researcher known for his pioneering work studying the relationship between nutrition, dental health, and physical health. In the 1930s, he traveled worldwide, studying indigenous populations who still maintained their traditional diets, documenting their exceptional dental health and resistance to disease compared to those eating modern processed foods.
Francis M. Pottenger Jr. (1901-1967)
was an American physician and researcher known primarily for his experimental work studying the effects of diet on cats, known as “Pottenger’s Cats.” He conducted a decade-long study (1932-1942) investigating the impact of cooked versus raw food diets on multiple generations of cats. His work contributed to an early understanding of the importance of nutrient preservation in foods and the potential generational effects of dietary choices.
